Who we are

We, the Sub-continent Cricket Club Graz (SCCG), are a relatively new sporting club established in the small bustling city of Graz, Austria. The club mainly focuses participation and competing in professional events in the game of Cricket, happening in the Austria and Slovenia regions. Additionally, the club is a medium for meeting of like minded individuals living in the city of Graz, with a passion for cricket. More importantly, the club also promotes the sport of cricket and its gentlemanly spirit within the club’s social circles.

We were established in October 2016, and have been an officially registered sporting club since the year 2017. Until the city of Graz got its own cricket pitch in the summer 2019, SCCG has been playing most of its cricket in the Slovenia region, and a few games in the Austria region. This season (2020) onwards the club will focus on competing in more games, both in the Austrian and the Slovenian regions.

Play cricket at the highest possible level in the regions of Austria and Slovenia

Participation in social events

Uphold, maintain and promote the gentlemanly spirit of the game of cricket

Organizing tournaments (future)

Team Practice

• Based on the availability of time slots at the cricket ground in Graz (Ballpark Graz), team practices are conducted once a week for two hours, usually on a weekday (6pm – 8pm)
• Practice matches/ Friendly matches are played by the team when possible, with the other clubs in and around Graz, also travel to Slovenia.
• Net practice is also sometimes done on the basketball hartplatz with carpet at the University Sports Institute.

(Quadrennial) General Assembly meetings (link)

The SCCG team members and the committee conduct the general assembly meetings every four (two until now) years, where a new committee is selected, and each year an official meeting is called where yearly activities are planned.

Club performance over the years (link)

The SCCG has been performing consistently since it was founded in 2016. The club has won three tournaments and placed second in many of the tournaments it has participated in.
