As a part of #PLAYGREEN activities, the SCCG is promoting Goal 4: Sustainable Transport in Cricket. A video reminding the ways to sustainably travel to your games at the cricket ground can be found on the @sccgcricket youtube channel.
With more and more teams being added to the ACA roster, and a Division 3 coming soon in the future, more and more games will be played at cricket grounds all around Austria. More games would mean more people, meaning more cars and hence higher emissions per game. Try and be sustainable with your transportation – carpool to your game, car share with other people, use public transportation as much as possible to reach your cricket ground to reduce the carbon footprint of your cricket games. You could also invest a bit of money on e-scooters or e-bikes which are subsidized by the Austrian government ( see picture below) and try to minimize your emissions by using them.
The SCCG will #PLAYGREEN this year, to promote sustainability in cricket in the Austrian and Slovenian regions, you should too!
