SCCG win against ACCW2 by 85 runs
The SCCG played against ACCW2 in their first game of the season in the division 2 of the ACA T20 League 2020. The match was played at Ballpark Graz on the 22.05.2022 at 16:00. The SCCG won the toss and decided to bat first.
With conditions like slight drizzle, and high humidity, Jimmy and Shirzad opened the innings strongly at 10 r.p.o but lost their wickets early on in the third over. There was a small interruption to the game due to the appearance of a snake on the field, which was safely cleared by the ground management swiftly. Karthik and saeed took over from the openers as number 3 and 4 respectively and added 54 runs together in 6 overs. Unfortunately both got out in consecutive balls in the same over. Pratik took over and added 27 runs to the total by rotating strike regulary with waqas on the other end. Finally in the end a burst of runs from Ghani (31* off 20 balls) and Harun (16 off 10 balls) the SCCG set a considerably large target of 180 runs.
In the second innings Shinwari started off his spell with a wide, but came back strongly in the rest of the over. Shirzad bowled beautifully on the other end, picking up 2 wickets in his first spell. There were several missed chances behind the wickets and the misfields by keeper added several runs to the extras total. After two overs, Mr.Snake shows up again on the field! Umpires and players again clear the snake off the ground safely. It seemed Mr/Ms? Snake wanted to have his/her share of action on the field.
Further into the innings Ghani, Ashok, Harun, Pratik, Jimmy and Karthik bowled consistently well in their respective spells, while Saeed turned the ball exceptionally well picking up 3 wickets in 2 overs and conceding only 3 runs of his share of overs. The SCCG ran out three of ACCW2’s batsmen in the 2nd Innings. The score at the end of the innings mustered by ACCW2 totalled at 94 for 9 wickets thus leading to the result of SCCG winning by 85 runs.
