The SCCG won against the Sher-e-Punjab CC by 53 runs
SCCG 154/8 (20); SEPCC 101/7 (20)
On 01/08/2020, the SCCG played its third match of the ACA T20 Division 2 league against the Sher-e-Punjab Cricket Club (SEPCC) at Ballpark Graz. The SCCG won the match comfortably by 53 runs, making it 3 wins in 3 matches in the ACA T20 League. Now, the SCCG are ranked 3rd in the ACA Div 2 league table with 14 points in 3 games.
The SCCG won the toss on saturday and elected to bat first. The openers Jimmy and Vikram gave a dream start for the SCCG run rate of over 10 rpo. Both batsmen scored runs of almost every ball. Once both the openers were out, though the run rate dropped considerably, the middle order maintained a healthy runrate 7 rpo with good knocks from Adil and Shirzad. Though a flurry of wickets fell in the death overs, the SCCG put up a total of 154/8 in 20 overs.
With 154 runs as a target in 20 overs, the SEPCC went of to a slow start mainly due to exceptional fast bowling spell by Adil and Shirzad. With the added pressure by the SCCG bowlers, the SEPCC hardly scored runs of the bat, and only the opening batsman Vijay put up a fight with 21 runs of 27 balls. Jimmy continued his amazing form with the ball and took three wickets in the single over he bowled. Eventually, the SEPCC managed to put on 101 runs on the board, with some really smart batting and running between the wickets from the no.7 and no.8 batsmen Lucky and Makhan Sir.
The overall performance with the bat, bowl and in the field by the SCCG continued to show improvement over time, and this led to the team easily emerging victorious.
Again, special mention to the top SCCG supporters Supriya and Seema who showed up at the venue and relentlessly supported the team at every turn of the match!
